Our Projects

Innovation for the Urban Logistics of Tomorrow

;

From Innovation to Implementation

At OVO, projects are much more than just proof-of-concept demonstrations. They enable us to design, test, and deploy new urban logistics solutions under real-world conditions.

We work alongside local governments, businesses, transportation operators, universities, and international partners to address specific operational needs. Our role is to bridge the gap between innovation, research, and day-to-day operations in order to transform ideas into high-performing, sustainable services.

⚡ Construction Site Logistics

Development of a comprehensive field service logistics solution that enables technical teams to travel using sustainable transportation while OVO handles inventory management, on-site supply, deliveries, and returns.

❄️Refrigerated cargo bike

Development of Switzerland’s first cargo bike with active refrigeration in daily operation, enabling the distribution of fresh products in the city centre while maintaining cold chain integrity.

NanoHub Zone

Modular, multi-operator transshipment zones. A European project demonstrating the potential of NanoHubs networks to pool logistics flows, bring goods closer to users, and accelerate the development of sustainable urban logistics.

NanoHub

Implementation of flexible transfer points to facilitate urban transit transfers.

Autonomous Vehicles

Shared Use of Autonomous Passenger Buses with Urban Logistics Services. [ULTIMO Project]

Shared Use of Urban Spaces

Using underused bus depots during the day to support a modal shift in urban logistics.

Innovation Through Collaboration

The challenges of urban logistics require a collaborative approach. OVO develops its projects in partnership with companies, local governments, transportation operators, research centers, and universities to design solutions that meet the real needs of local communities.

In particular, we collaborate with partners such as Services Industriels de Genève (SIG), Transports publics genevois (TPG), and Migros Genève, while also participating in several European projects funded under the Horizon Europe and EIT Urban Mobility programs.

Research & Innovation

OVO actively participates in research programs focused on the future of urban logistics, mobility, and shared infrastructure. This ongoing collaboration between research and operations makes it possible to transform scientific findings into concrete solutions that are tested and deployed in the field.

Our projects are developed in collaboration with leading universities and research centers, including:

  • EPFL
  • University of Geneva
  • Geneva School of Business Administration (HEG)
  • KEDGE Business School
  • Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB – MOBILISE)
  • CENIT – Center for Transportation Innovation (CIMNE)

Our Networks

OVO is a member of several European networks that are shaping the future of mobility and logistics.

EIT Urban Mobility

As a partner of Europe’s leading innovation community dedicated to urban mobility, OVO is involved in developing and testing new solutions for cities.

ALICE – Alliance for Logistics Innovation through Collaboration in Europe

OVO contributes to the work of the European reference technology platform on logistics and the supply chain by participating in discussions on future models for freight transport and urban logistics.
